Small Business Resources

Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has more than 2,700 investors, 80 percent of which have 25 or fewer employees. Our goal is to promote the interests of these small businesses by providing programs and services that encourage professional development and help small businesses thrive.


General Resources for Small Businesses

  • U.S. Chamber of Commerce – As a small business investor of MBACC, you can enjoy complimentary membership in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. 
  • South Carolina Chamber of Commerce – Any MBACC investor with 10 or fewer full-time employees can enjoy free membership with the South Carolina Chamber Alliance.
  • U.S. Small Business Administration – SBA works to ignite change and spark action so small businesses can confidently start, grow, expand or recover.
  • Community Profiles From SC DEW – Site is updated monthly with relevant statistics for population, commuting, jobs, unemployment, etc. in South Carolina counties.
  • South Carolina Business One Stop – The official South Carolina business web portal. SCBOSs help brand new as well as existing businesses, better understand the process of filing permits, licenses, registrations or paying taxes.

Freedom Readers Named February Nonprofit of the Month

A simple mission to help kids read better led Tracy Bailey to launch Freedom Readers in 2010. It started with just two sites and 40 scholars and students. Today, Freedom Readers serves 20 sites with about 230 children.
