Leadership Grand Strand Class XLVI to Celebrate Completion of Legacy Project at Barnabas Horse Foundation

Leadership Grand Strand Class XLVI will celebrate the completion of its class legacy project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Barnabas Horse Foundation on June 25.

The annual legacy project is a hallmark of the Leadership Grand Strand experience, giving each class the opportunity to work together on a project that creates a lasting impact in the community. This year, Class XLVI partnered with Barnabas Horse Foundation, a nonprofit organization that uses equine-assisted services to support individuals and families throughout the region.

Through months of planning, fundraising and volunteer efforts, the class completed three significant improvement projects designed to strengthen the foundation’s facilities and enhance the experience for participants.

The project includes a new memorial garden and outdoor dedication space, providing a peaceful area for reflection and comfort. Class members also funded and installed approximately 580 feet of vinyl fencing around the equine-assisted learning facility to improve safety and security for both participants and horses. Additionally, the class constructed a covered storage structure with a concrete foundation to protect feed and equipment.

Together, these improvements will help Barnabas Horse Foundation continue serving the community while creating a more functional and welcoming environment for clients, volunteers and staff.

Leadership Grand Strand is a 10-month leadership development program that brings together professionals from across the Grand Strand to learn about the region, build meaningful connections and strengthen their leadership skills. The legacy project serves as the culmination of the program, allowing participants to apply what they have learned while giving back to the community.
