Building a Stronger Community
As part of its mission to promote, protect and improve the Grand Strand and its 14 unique communities, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) is committed to being a vital part of the community it serves.
We have two opportunities to get involved where no membership is required.
Community Engagement Council
The Chamber’s Community Engagement Council is comprised of chamber members and nonmembers who have a vision for a strong community that works together for the common good of us all. Council members understand the positive impacts businesses have on our region’s success and appreciate how business development can enhance the well-being and quality of life of all residents.
It’s members serve as a conduit between the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber, the Grand Strand business community, local municipalities and its residents. The council meets four times a year to discuss various initiatives, especially that of Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful, Tourism Works for the Grand Strand, Partnership Grand Strand and the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance.
Resident Advisory Task Force
The Resident Advisory Task Force ensures community voices are heard. Fifteen volunteers – one from every Horry County Council district and four countywide at-large – will meet six times a year to:
- Flag local issues and opportunities early
- Give feedback on chamber programs, events and advocacy work
- Recommend practical, resident-focused solutions
Members serve two-year terms. Membership with the chamber is not required. We’re looking for people with a variety of viewpoints – all that’s required is a desire to shape the area’s future and the ability to bring constructive insight and energy to the table.
New applicants for the Task Force will be considered for terms starting in 2027.
