Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful and Grand Strand Young Professionals Partner for Back-to-School Cleanup

In preparation for the new school year, Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful has teamed up with Grand Strand Young Professionals (GSYP), the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) and the City of Myrtle Beach for a special community roadside cleanup and school supply drive on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, from 8 to 11 a.m.

Volunteers will focus on litter removal in the areas surrounding the Myrtle Beach schools with the goal of creating a welcoming environment for students, teachers, staff and families as they return to local schools.

“A litter-free environment sets the tone for a successful school year,” said Jimmy Gray, MBACC President. “This is a simple but meaningful way our community can come together to show support for our schools, educators, parents and students.”

Parking is available at the Doug Shaw Stadium and the Keep Myrtle Beach Beautiful registration booth will be located at 32nd Ave. North and Oak St. near the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center. Trash bags, gloves, vests and easy-reach grabbers will be provided.

Participants are also encouraged to support local students by donating school supplies such as pencils, crayons, glue and notebooks. All donated items will be distributed directly to Myrtle Beach schools.
